If you will check all the comments in the post of DFA, you will see all the disappointments and hatred due to difficulty in accessing the website. Others suggested to bring back the walk in application to all. Some also said that they had successfully scheduled an appointment but it took them a lot of patience. One comment says that it is easy to set an appointment during the time of 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM.
- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced the release of 100,000 slots for a Philippine passport appointment. 50,000 slots opened today, 14 June, at 12pm. Later at 9pm, 50,000 more slots will also be available for scheduling.
- UPDATE: Additional slots for passport application and renewal has been opened by the DFA. As per DFA's Facebook page, 100,000 slots is now available as of January 23, 2018.
How to set an appointment at passport.gov.ph
DFA Opens 100,000 Passport Appointment Slots Due to complaints from citizens who were unable to book for passport appointments, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) recently opened 100,000 passport appointment slots for February to May. Applicants can now book their appointment on the nearest consular office in order to get their passport.
The following do not need an online appointment:

- Senior Citizens
- Solo Parent with Valid Solo Parent ID
- Pregnant women with medical certificate
- Minors seven (7) years old and below
You may avail of the PRIORITY LANE at DFA Aseana or at any DFA Satellite Office or Regional Consular Office to apply for your passport.
If you are not an OFW, PWD, senior citizen, solo parent, pregnant, or minor, then you need to follow the regular process of getting an online passport appointment at www.passport.gov.ph.

The pilot testing of ePayment in DFA Aseana is in the final stages. Once finalized — and we hope this to materialize very soon — ePayment will be fully implemented in all Consular Offices beginning with DFA Aseana.
The pilot tests have shown promising results. Show up rates have risen to 95 percent and above, minimizing the number of slots wasted through non-appearance. There are no bogus appointments as applicants now have to pay before an appointment is confirmed. The time applicants spend at DFA has been reduced considerably, with ePayment decreasing the usual processing time.
